What is this system

A 404-page dungeon-crawling tome with new-school mechanics and old-school sensibilities. Instead of dice alone, the party draws from a tarot deck that drives combat, divination, and drama. Slot-based inventory, light, food, and character Bonds aren't bookkeeping — they're the heart of a long, Metroidvania-like descent.

Setting

Adventurers delve the dungeons beneath the City at the End of the World — the last city, ringed by darkness. The tarot shapes fate: cards for combat, for reading omens, for the tangled bonds between characters. Troupe-style, relationship-driven play where who your character loves matters as much as what they carry.

What it looks like at the table
Torchlight gutters as you draw for the encounter: the Tower, reversed. The Referee smiles. Your slot inventory is nearly full — rope, lantern, a relic you can't yet name — and the light is running out. Someone has to drop something, or turn back. Your Bond with the thief says you won't leave them behind. You draw again.

Key mechanics

The Tarot Engine

One deck resolves everything: combat, skill tests, divination, and dramatic reveals. Novel but easy to grasp, and it works at the table without a translation layer.

Slot Inventory & Light

Encumbrance, light, and food are real constraints made fun. What you carry defines who you are and how deep you dare go.

Bonds & Troupe Play

Character creation gamifies relationships. Bonds power recovery and pull the party into interesting roleplay scenes instead of murderhoboing.

Dungeon & City Procedures

Robust, transparent procedures for crawling dungeons and plotting in the City. Every subsystem explains WHY it exists, right in the book.
