What is this system

Vampire: The Masquerade is a gothic horror tabletop RPG from Renegade Game Studios (5th Edition / V5, 2018). Storyteller System: roll a pool of d10s, count successes on 6+. Two 10s = critical (4 successes). Hunger dice replace part of the pool — the thirst for blood becomes a core mechanic. You play a Kindred (vampire), balancing Humanity against the Beast within.

Setting

The modern world — a dark reflection of our reality. The Camarilla (conservative vampire establishment) crumbles, the Anarchs rise, and the Second Inquisition (secret government hunters) stalks the night. Every clan is its own politics, every city is an arena.

What it looks like at the table
Third Point. A neonate vampire feels Hunger — a red die in the pool. Resistance roll: 3+5+7+8+Hunger(10!) = 5 successes. Critical! But... a critical with the Hunger die = Hunger Rises. Humanity drops. You just killed the one you tried to save. Welcome to the Night.

Key mechanics

Storyteller System (d10 pool)

Roll Attribute + Skill in d10s. Success on 6+. Two 10s = critical (4 successes). Simple but elegant math.

Hunger

A red die replaces a normal one in your pool. Hunger grows if you don't feed. High Hunger = uncontrollable actions, crit failures, and eventually — Humanity loss.

Humanity

A scale from 0 to 10. Lose Humanity = lose control. At zero — you become the Beast, NPCs run your character. End of story.

Clans

13 clans with unique Disciplines (powers), weaknesses, and culture. Brujah — rage, Ventrue — ambition, Malkavian — madness...

What people say
The system is timeless and extremely easy to learn. It all boils down to 'roll dice, you succeed at 50% per die'. Vampire is a game that thrives on drama. Hunger deserves a special mention.— Antonios S, RPGnet
