What is this system

A military sandbox about surviving after nuclear war. You are the remnants of a shattered NATO unit in Poland (or Sweden). Command is silent, fuel is running out, ammo is scarce, and winter is coming. Can you make it home — or at least survive until spring?

Setting

An alternate year 2000. World War III happened. Nuclear strikes destroyed major cities. Europe is a zone of chaos: marauders, deserters, local warlords. Polish winter, ruined infrastructure, and the remnants of civilization.

What it looks like at the table
You have 12 rounds for the M16, half a tank of diesel in the APC, and two wounded. The village ahead is controlled by a local warlord. He offers: a tank of diesel for a job — clear the marauders on the bridge. Persuasion roll on d10+d8 — failure. He raises the price: diesel AND your medkit. January. Three months until spring.

Key mechanics

Realistic combat

Ballistics, cover, suppression. A single bullet can kill. Combat is desperate, short, and terrifying.

Scarcity economy

Fuel, ammo, medicine — worth their weight in gold. Every shot is a decision: is the target worth a round?

Vehicles

Tanks, APCs, trucks — your home on wheels. Repair and modification are a separate layer of gameplay.

Hexploration

An open map of Poland with points of interest, factions, and random events. Where to go is your call.

What people say
We spent an entire session deciding whether to trade our last can of diesel for antibiotics. No combat, no dice rolls for most of it. Just pure, agonizing decision-making. Best session we've had.— u/cold_war_vet, r/twilight2000
T2K makes you feel the weight of every bullet. My players went from "I shoot everything" to "can we negotiate?" in exactly one session. That's the game working as intended.— u/sandbox_soldier, r/rpg
