What is this system

Cyberpunk RED is a cyberpunk tabletop RPG from R. Talsorian Games (2020), the fourth edition of the Interlock system. Set in 2045, after the 4th Corporate War — Night City's sky is red from nuclear fallout, and players are edgerunners surviving between corporations and the streets. d10 system with Lifepath character creation and the brutal Friday Night Firefight combat subsystem.

Setting

Night City, 2045 — a Los Angeles/San Francisco hybrid in a post-nuclear future. Corporations control everything, but the street has its own rules. Fashion, cyberware, and style aren't optional — they're survival.

What it looks like at the table
A wounded edgerunner lies in an alley. Cybereye blinks red: system error. Above him, a nano-surgeon with a biocase. 'The price?' asks the gonk. 'Your life and 5000 creds,' says the surgeon. Four d10s in hand. Difficulty 14. Roll... 7+3+1+0 = 11. Fail. The surgeon shrugs: 'Try in your next life.'

Key mechanics

Interlock System (d10)

Roll 1d10 + Attribute + Skill vs Difficulty Value. Simple but harsh math: crits on doubles, fumbles on double ones.

Friday Night Firefight

Brutal combat system: weapons are real, armor is fragile, wounds are lethal. One shot can kill. Combat isn't entertainment — it's survival.

Lifepath

Character creation through tables: family, childhood, teenage years, first job, events. Every character comes with a built-in story.

Cyberware

Cybernetics enhance the body but add Humanity Loss. Too much metal and you stop being human.

What people say
Cyberpunk Red pushes its own alternate future timeline forward far enough to remain different and exciting when compared to our own, while remaining a funhouse mirror image of the same troubled world we still live in.— Charlie Hall, Polygon
The first impression you get of Cyberpunk Red is that it's a game of wild contradictions. From its rules to its setting, everything leaps between extremes of simplicity and complexity, campy fun and corporate brutality.— Richard Jansen-Parkes, Dicebreaker
