What is this system

Alice is Missing is a silent one-shot RPG for three to five players. Alice Briarwood, a high school junior, has vanished from the small town of Silent Falls, and you play the people closest to her. After about 45 minutes of setup, nobody speaks again: for 90 minutes, paced by a soundtrack timer, everything happens in group and private text messages. Clue cards flip at fixed minute marks, pulling in Suspects and Locations until the truth about Alice lands on your phone.

Setting

Silent Falls, a sleepy small town in the dead of winter. Present day, no magic, no monsters: just missing-person posters, a handful of locals who know more than they say, and the friends and family Alice left behind.

What it looks like at the table
The timer hits 70. You flip your Clue card: reveal a Suspect, they are at your door asking strange questions about Alice. You glance at the others across the silent table, then type into the group chat: "guys. he's on my porch. he keeps asking if alice left anything with me." Three phones buzz. Someone answers in a private thread instead.

Key mechanics

Played in silence

Once the timer starts nobody talks. All roleplay happens by text: one group chat for everyone, plus private threads where characters share suspicions, lies and confessions the others never see.

90-minute soundtrack timer

An official video combines a countdown with a curated soundtrack that tracks the story's emotional arc. When the music ends, so does the game, whatever state the investigation is in.

Timed Clue cards

Each player holds Clue cards tied to minute marks. When the timer hits yours, you flip it, reveal a Suspect or Location card, answer its prompt and text the news to the group.

Drives and Secrets

Five archetypal characters each carry a Secret, while Drive cards add a Motive and two Relationships with other players. The facilitator plays too, as Charlie Barnes, while guiding setup.
